Festival of the Spheres 2013

Participation in the Festival of the Spheres. Which will be held on 19 and 24 March 2013 in the canton of Osa. The selection is limited to making the Central Organizing Committee of the products that will be exhibited.

These have to be authentic and original. Were assessed by the quality of work depending on the material used and the handling of the technique used, the geographical and ethnic value, the social, cultural or art supply and demand and the diversity of trades and techniques used.

Can participate in the Festival organizations, groups, associations of artisans, crafts designers, independent craftsmen and artists, such as painters and sculptors, as determined under the Ministry of Culture and Youth.

With the selection of the work, what the Ministry wants to ensure the quality of the products that are presented to the public and encourage the organization of artistic handicraft sector and to further strengthen and benefit the Festival participants and those attending the event.

Is an event that takes place around the Archaeological Park of the Spheres, which the Government of the Republic declared of public interest and that President Laura Chinchilla ran to the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco ) to be declared as a World Heritage Site. The decision of UNESCO will not be known until mid-2014.

For this edition, and the decision of the Assembly of the Central American Sports Organization 2013 were withdrawn from the program the following disciplines with respect to the previous event: shooting, archery, rowing, gymnastics, track cycling, squash and field hockey . Moreover, in the days before the event withdrew synchronized swimming, biking and BMX, by not having the minimum number of participants from three countries.
